Gorgeous Inspirations {Celebrate the art of gratitude}

ABOUT

Could you please explain a wee bit of the history?

Here is a brief chronology of the journey of Gorgeous Inspirations:

January 29, 2005
The sheer concept of life’s ‘little’ inspirations came up.

February 8, 2005
A different name was thought out (not yet Gorgeous Inspirations)

February 2, 2006
The name, Gorgeous Inspirations, was born and the first concept of life’s gorgeous inspirations was initiated.

April – November 2006
Gorgeous Inspirations was only a very simple blog on Blogger.

March 2007
We moved to a real website, but still hosted freely by Geocities.

May 2007
We showed up with the domain you now know, www.gorgeousinspirations.com.

December 2007
We had both a website (www.gorgeousinspirations.com) and a blog (www.gorgeousinspirations.com/blog, powered by WordPress software).

February 9, 2008
Gorgeous Inspirations became merely a blog (www.gorgeousinspirations.com).

.

What actually started you thinking to come up with Gorgeous Inspirations?

Life’s little details and my self-consciousness of being able to care about those things. For a person who used to concentrate more on big things, I’m grateful that I was eventually sent to this state I’m now in—minding the little ones, as the big ones start from small. It is then a merely natural ‘obligation’ for me to always express my thank-you for all the bless I’ve been given.

And I was convinced myself by these gorgeous philosophies:

  1. Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.
    Robert Brault
  2. Feel your life while you have it.
Sean Penn, about the moral story of his movie, Into the Wild
  3. […] If you are grateful, I will add more (favors) to you […]
    Ibrahim 14 : 7
  4. […] take then the (revelation) which I give you, and be of those who give thanks.
    Al-A’raf 7 : 144

.

What is your purpose?

Founded in early February as a genuine labor of love by Diar Adhihafsari, Gorgeous Inspirations was initially aimed as a source of inspiration for women. But over time it has evolved into something more ‘general’, regardless of gender.

We still are a source of inspiration, yet we focus more on life’s gorgeous, ‘little’ inspirations that may spark gratitude. We believe that being grateful—moreover for simple things that are often overlooked—is one of the major things in life that will surely bring a one-of-a-kind happiness.

We strive to be a significant and essential source and inspiration for people to ignite and enhance their gratitude, in particular toward ‘little’, yet gorgeous things around them.

.

What is Gorgeous Inspirations doing for us then?

We have a mission to celebrate the art of gratitude by providing news, information, articles, and other kinds of writing on almost every, single life’s little detail that can very likely spark people’s gratitude toward it.

Besides giving you inspiration through the blog, we also have a quarterly magazine that you can download for free.

We are aware, however, that the theme we carry here is really not a popular topic, but our deep concern on the said theme will never make us ignore it despite its popularity.

If you agree that being grateful is such a gorgeous thing, you are more than welcome to put this following badge on your blog to express your said agreement (save the image in your disk or copy and paste the codes we provide):

And who are you actually?

My name is Diar Adhihafsari (note that Adhihafsari is not my family name, by the way), I’m 24, and I’m a former English lecturer at a private university in Indonesia. I’m the one who found Gorgeous Inspirations and I’m the only one who is managing everything here. Never hesitate to contact me :)
