Last August 17, my country, Indonesia, just celebrated its 63rd Independence Day. No, I’m not going to talk about what parades and contests and competitions all people held in commemorating the day.
I’m posing you all a question in this Happiness Journal:
Are you happy about your country?
If you ask that question to me, I’ll answer “I’m happy enough”.
Below are 2 reasons why I am:
- I know I still perceive various kinds of innumerable injustice now and then, but I’m happy that we all, either directly or not, TRY hard to fight against that.
- I know many people keep saying that we’re not yet free in ALL aspects of life as citizens, but I’m happy that our late amazing heroes inherited us the already-independent-from-invaders country. They gave us the opportunity to continue their fight, not to start from zero.
So, what makes you happy (enough) about your country, folks?
