My Brand New Project

6th December 2007

I’m always excited welcoming new years to come before me, including now to head to 2008. Well, yes, each country, religion, and even tribe has their own calendar to use (my religion tells me to use the Hijri Calendar), but however the Christian Calendar is the one adopted as the official one in almost all countries around the world, so it excites me in some level as well.

Since welcoming 2006, I started having a theme for each new year (you know, as a compass or a guide).

2006 : Color Your Life!
2007 : Grow Up!
2008 to come : Declutter Your Life!

Yes, 2008 should be the year for me to declutter my life (inspired by the Oprah Winfrey Show). The term I’m using chiefly refers to being more scheduled in doing things. Well, I have this habit of jotting down almost anything in my planner book, but I’m only human who, most of the time, likes playing around, for instance, instead of finishing my office tasks. I’m just such a great procrastinator. So, it’s time to beat that procrastinator in me!

Anyway, I never notice since when, but I believe that I’m a list-writing junkie! Yes, love and love writing lists of what to do for the next 1, 5, and 10 years, or simply for the next hour or so. Just any kind of list, especially consisting of very detailed ones (you know, like cut your nails every Friday, copy your ID card after teaching). I looove details :D

Every year, I am usually ready with my resolutions or something in December (but last year, I was ready even since early November). And now, I’m ready with the general list, but haven’t had any motivation to list the detail and concrete ones. I don’t know why God made me this way, but it’s such a coincidence (though I believe there’s no such thing as coincidence), that He turned my eyes to this awesome blog post.

I think I’m gonna join. Isn’t it a brilliant idea to do 101 things in 1001 days? So appealing!

Such a great blog, those two. Inspiring yet challenging. In the latter blog, you can as well find other challenging projects other people make. A must-read blog! It inspires you to set concrete and realistic goals to achieve.

FYI: people have been making New Year’s resolutions since in the Babylon era. And they made very concrete resolutions, e.g. return the ‘money’ or land they borrowed from others. Simple, eh?

Yes, it’s gonna be worth doing to join.

Now, the time to list what to list in that 101 list :D
