Learning Simple Present Tense from These Blogs

posted in Being Personal, Just Inspiring |

In terms of teaching, never call me creative, let alone innovative. For the matter of preparing materials and giving tasks/assignments, most of the times I rely on my last-minute-popped-up ideas. Including this final assignment I gave to my three General English classes — find and list as many simple present tense sentences as they can from several blogs I told them. Why blogs? English books and magazines are rare here, so why not benefiting from the internet, especially blogs that have so, so, so many sentences?

It’s just interesting knowing that these following blogs are the most listed as references for many of my students’ assignments:

^^ Dinie Hazel’s The Kupu blog

^^ Zandria’s Keep Up with Me blog

^^ Indonesia Anonymus

^^ No Pasa Nada

^^ Angel’s blog

Are you serious? My blog is a go-to for your students to find present-tense sentences? That is so cool I feel honored. Tell them I said hello. :)

Hi, Zandria! Thx for droppin’ by here :)

Yes, yes, yes, very serious. I listed about 11 or 12 blogs (that I visit often — this prevents me from being fooled, in case they make up sentences that are not actually stated in those blogs), including yours. Well, the result, as I told in this post :)

Hope my students get something from your blog (like their lecturer does ;) ).

I suddenly feel like I should clean up my language and discuss the importance of Salinger a little more often.

    Ms. Heather B.,

It was good for my students to get the natural state from your language :)
